Hello,
I own a 2004 325ci, this is actually the first coupe I have ever bought, so I am not sure if this is a normal thing and which is why I am asking this. I parked at school parking lot, and it was raining the whole day, at the end of the day, I got in my car, and was driving out of the parking lot, just when I scrolled down my window to scan the card so the gate bar would raise and let me out, I hear extremely loud screeching sound from my windows. Just to describe how loud the sound is, if I stand 2 cars distance away and scroll down the windows using my key, I can still hear it.
Now this is actually the first time in 3 months that I had to open my windows while it is raining, so I am not sure if this problem existed when I first got my car.
I did a few testing and found out that if I open the door so the glass isn't attached to the plastic rubber on the vertical side, then there won't be a screeching sound. And if I close my door, the screeching sound is just un-bearable. The sound seems to come from the glass sliding up/down the plastic rubber.
My question is that if this is normal? for a new car? Or is there something wrong and I need to take it back to the dealer?
If any of you need more info to answer my question, please don't hesitate and post, and I will answer it.
