Does anyone know of any retro fit jobs for seats from a e36 or 46 to a e30? Ive seen e46 front retrofits anything else anyone has seen? I would like e36 rear seats in my car

Why not reupholster your E30 rears or try an E30 M3 setup. Anything an be made to fit anywhere but is it worth the time and money? I believe the seat back width to be different and the 4 dr and coupe are different again. Have someone get you the measurents and the type mounting to see if it is even worthwhile to try. Better yet locate a possible donor car, ie. at a salvage yard or measure it at a dealer lot, and for yourself. It only cost me $500 to redo my entire interior in fabric (leather too hot for me in the desert). I had estimates as high as $1200 for the same thing. Good luck.

I don't know about cheaper. Prices at upholstery shops vary all over the lot as I found out last year. You also want the front and rear to match. Leather color, styles and type (grain) differ. Rears in leather from a E46 will run at least a grand if you have someplace that will part with just the rears such as a salvage yard if the fronts are not useable. Good luck in that area. Check the seat widths to see if it is doable without having to redo the back seat anyway. It is not a drop in. Also, coupes and some 4 dr cars had split rear seats that folded down. That feature cannot be used in an E30. If you can't measure one for height and width a sales brochure might help some with dimensions. I still think the E30 M3 seats are a better choice.
