I have a 330ci/04/ with spt, cold, and prm. Packages it has 12xxx miles on it.
I only use v-power gas form shell.
Now the problem:
I started the car and gave it a minute to let the rpm get normal; which I always do. When I drove less then a mile and the following lamps turned on “service the engine soon; EML” and the engine was making a weird sound like, missing. When I pushed the gas paddle but there was no response. There was no power, so I stopped the car. Few minutes later I started the engine again and everything seems normal, sound was ok no more light came up.
Does anyone know what is going on; it is almost a new car. I did change the oil at 8000 miles; and I did get an appointment with the dealership regarding this problem

In advance; thank you for your comments and suggestions.

I'm guessing a misfire? Maybe it was acting quirky because of the cold... I'm always extra slow and gentle on the throttle while it's warming up.

I just today got a recall notice about this in the mail. It is the coils. It also says you might fail an emissions test.

My car did exactly what yours did when it was new. They moved the coils around and the problem disappeared. I will go for the recall anyway though. It says the new ones are a new design.

The coil problem IS solved, MyHarley. The cars with the potentially defective coils have been recalled and will be fixed for free.
