It's pretty easy.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the badging. Then use dental floss and slide it underneath the badge while gently pulling it away from the paint.

You can clean off the adhesive with just regular car polish.

Or just let it sit in the sun for a while to heat up. The floss works like a charm! [thumb]

True Story.

I did that and a pinstrike delete the same day, within 20 minutes. The Floss is the key, even if it leaves a little goo on there, just get some goo off or something paint-friendly to get the last remains of the adhesive off.

no badge=clean!

I agree with willaim330 and breyes - I want to keep the 330 badge exposed. Those who don't know usually need to be educated on the differences between a 325 or 318 and 330. I don't mind the conversation but there are so many differences that I prefer the 330 badge be on the car. The funny thing is that I did not know the differences myself until i drove my boyfriend's 330, then bought my own AND now get 325s as loaners. BIG differences - might as well educate others as I was educated.

Funny thing, though, i don't wear labels on clothing or anything else. I LOVE that the performace of my 330 just seperates itself from many others. Did someone say "ego trip"?

Will the above also work in getting off the dealers nameplate?
Depending on if the dealer nameplate is simply a sticker or a raised object (plastic medallion, symbol, etc). If it just a flat sticker, you may have to substitute your fingernail for the dental floss as you won't be able to work it behind the surface as easily. I think heat is the main objective to removing any kind of adhesive.

Whenever I see a 3-series without emblems, I think "318" or "323."

Why hide your model?

It's a great car, don't hide it!

My car stopped being a 323 a while back. I like it clean and balanced in the rear anyhow - badgeless. I'd do the same with an M or some other 3, or a 5.. I shaved the V6 emblem's off my off my old Solara - everyone used to think it was just the 4 banger till I got on it.. (Not that Toyota's V6's have any real punch!) Stealth mode engaged.. [}:)]

Whenever I slap in my supercharger, I plan to get an emblem made with my own initials to put on there if anything.. [idea]

My thoughts, I would be pissed at a dealer who stuck his name plate on the back of my BMW and make him remove it. I am not a traveling billboard for a car dealership!

I removed the 750iL off the back of my 750 years ago, considered a 733i decal but decided on the clean look as well!

When I bought my bimmer, I made the dealership take off their "free advertisment"... I looked at the salesman, arms folded, and said "you really aren't planning on leaving that there are you?" ten mins later....gone johnson.

I actually use the Gilette Mach 3 Power shaver to shave...great shaver! In any case, I completely agree with Big Daddy as my car does not serve as a rolling advertisement for the dealership. They usually give you license plate frames with the dealership tag as well, but I just swap those out for the thin-frame license plate frames.
