Ok I know this is a little anal but, the little shift pattern, acrylic badge on the top of my shifter knob is cracked. I want to replace it and I removed the knob by shifting it into fourth and pulling up. (I didn't think it was going to be that easy!)
Now I need to get the badge off the knob. Is it glued on? Any suggestions?
It is on a 99 328ic and has a wood knob.

It is glued on.

The best way I think would be to use a heat gun, holding the knob with your hand protected with some durable clothe against the heat and pry it off with blade of some sort.

Cautions: Do not over heat: may damage leather and plastics. Also, be careful NOT to tear the leather or otherwise damage it. I think some heat would help alot.
