I am curious what the shift points are for people's 330 series cars with steptronic. Under normal (mild) acceleration, my trans. only stays in 2nd gear for a few seconds - 2 or 3 seconds - before shifting into 3rd gear. Is this normal? The shifting is smooth, but it stays in second gear for a far shorter time than any of the other gears. Each gear change is made at 2300 rpm. Also, in the sport mode, the shift points are increased to about 2800 rpm, except the shift from 1st to 2nd gear, which remains at 2300 rpm. Is it normal for the shift point to remain the same from 1st to 2nd gear in both regular and sport mode?

Any feedback would be appreciated,
Prolix

Floor it......... It should shift at 6400-6500rpm, most likely if you floor it in sportmode from start it will drop into 1st. [burnout]

Welcome, fellow Eugenean! [welcome]

In sport mode, the gears should stay longer. Try flooring it to see if it revs up to redline before upshifting. The tranny is trying adjust to your current driving to better match shifting and not annoy you.
