Should I trade in my car?

I need your opinion. I'm in the military. While I was in Italy I picked up a 04 325Cic. In Italy, it was awesome! Great long summers, winter not too harsh. Well, now I just got stationed at McChord which is in the Seattle/Tacoma area. I'm thinking of trading in my car for a SUV. If I do it, I want either an X3 or X5. The only reason is that there are only about 3 months of good top down weather here. Also, I'm a big snowboarder, and I can't take a convertible to the mountains. What do you guys think?

oooh, you're gonna take a hit. Maybe not too much cuz it's still relatively new. How long are you gonna be at McChord? Prolly a good idea to trade though due to your location and preferred activities.

if you are going for an suv then go for the porsche cayenne....
Yeah, they start at only $81K!!![rofl] [rofl] Everyone can afford one of those.

I say go for the X3 or X5 depending on your size needs. They both now offer i-Drive which is a vastly improved AWD system over the previous one in the X5. I really like the look of the new X5, very sharp. Test drive them and I guarantee you will find them leaps and bounds better than any other SUV in the price range.

We absolutely love our X5, it has the BMW look and feel and drives like the day I bought it.

"trade in???"

[wave] hjimzaf

I just purchased my second BMW, an '04 ZHP[thumb] .

I picked-up my wife an '03 325i last March and sold our TrailBlazer.

Well, she kind of misses the SUV type vehicle so I said, lets go back to our dealer and see about trading your 325i in for an X3, figuring w/only 2500 miles on her car they'd give us a
GREAT deal... "wrong."

The dealer was only willing to give us the 'auction-value' of the 325i toward the trade to an
'04 X3.[:(!]

To get to my point... DO NOT TRADE A VEHICLE IN.

You will get the 'hosing of your life.'[fake]

I thought the dealer would take the 325i back and sell it as a 'demo' or something in order to get an '04 X3 out into the masses... once again, "wrong."

Your best bet is to put an AD in the paper, or Autotrader, in a market where the weather is
'sunny' most of the year, i.e. Vegas or So. Cali.

Happy[driving2] ...

I think you meant to say xDrive rather than iDrive. One is great, the other is f*****. [:)]

I have a 330Cic,

My opinion is, you need a seperate vehicle in the NW, or if you can only afford 1 go with a muli-purpose vehicle like you mentioned. My Convertible only comes out on sunny/dry days in the winter.....waste of money ? no, I have a 4X4 Toyota Tundra and knew going in it was a fair weather car.

Good luck !! & welcome to the NW ! [:D]

it depends on how much u need to lug around . . . maybe a 325xi wagon ? i personally would never get a SUV but if ur getting it for the awd and snowboard gear, i think a wagon shold do the trick.
