Does anybody here know if the 2005 330ci is gonna be different ?
Are they gonna offer bigger engines on 3 series in 2005?
I've heard they might offer SMG II on 330ci in 2005 like the ones on the M3. Is it true?

Well, I'm so tempted to get my 330ci but since it's my first bimmer, I don't want to get it now and regret not waiting for a few months, but the good thing is I might go on an overseas trip for 2 months, so if I order the 2005 the wait would be more tolerable! since I will be really busy during the trip.

Oh, one more thing, well with steptronic what should one does if they want to hold on to a gear longer, cause even with the sports manual mode it revs it up more but still it changes the gear for you, if you dont. right? so any insight on that.

There are NO changes for the 2005 year :)

If you can get a good deal on a 2004 go ahead!

As far as my experience with Steptronic, it doesn't change gear for you upward, but it will downward shift for you, say if you're coming to a stop, then it will automatically go down to 1st gear...

Actually it does change gears for you both ways. If you accelerate to near redline in a gear it will shift down for you as well. Coming to a stop, it will shift down to M2, but you have to manually select M1 at that point if you want it (assuming you were already at >= M2).

There's not supposed to be any changes for 2005 model line. I'd go with the 2004. If you can find one on a lot somewhere that matches your interest you can get a better deal.
There's always going to be change. It's a never ending process. If you find one that you like, get it.
