Have my 2004 330i for a little over one week and first problem has emerged. The passenger side mirror is not dropping down when I put car in reverse. Also the mirror can't be adjusted from the power switch. Yes, I have the switch in the correct position. I have a service appointment but I wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem.
In all other regards the car is great. My wife has an '02 325i. Hers and mine feel very similar around town (330 suspension seems a little stiffer though neither car has sport option) It's when the 330 is at highway speeds and quick lane change or passing situation comes up that the extra power in the 330 really shows. The '04 looks very much like last years model but the wheels are different. Sorry I can't post a photo, my computer has been acting up and the photo software is one of the victims.

don,

My 2004 325 xi has no problem with the mirror. Let the dealer handle it. Wish I coulve afforded a 330!!!! Good luck with it.

Sounds like the mirror drive is faulty. Probably very uncommon.

Similarly when my X5 was brand new off the truck the steering wheel vertical power motor did not work. They replaced it and it has been fine ever since.

Mirror problem

Same problem in my 2003 325i With the switch set in the correct positrion, the mirror tilts down only about 50% of time. Had mine in the shop to fix a drained battery issue and the dealer could not fix - said that it was working ok when they tested it. Bastards.

Sorry to hear that your dealer didn't do the right thing by you. I guess I may be lucky that it is totally kaput in my car. They won't be able to give me the "it worked fine" routine.
good luck

All you have to do is show them when it fails [?|] by demo-ing it to them in the service drive. Surely it is repeatable if it only works 50% of the time. It may have worked when they tried it although I know how it is sitting there in the service office listening to the SA telling you something is OK when you know it's not. After all you drive the car every day. I think they will fix it if you can show them how to recreate the problem.

I have the same issue. I couldnt get the mirror to fail. I did see a trend, sems to happen more after I adjust the seat via the memory buttons. Im not sure if you have to save the seat with the switch in the correct position.

FYI: The passenger side mirror will only tilt down on reverse if you have it "turned on" to do so. Meaning, your side mirror adjustment switch needs to be set to the right for this to happen. If you've adjusted your driver's side mirror and left the switch to the left, it will not change when you're in reverse. Just thought I'd reiterate this in case you didn't realize this.

Having said that, my mirror on my 2004 330i PP is still not consistent. Plus, the side mirrors do not change with the power seat settings even though the manual makes it sound like they should. I'm taking my own sweet lazy time getting back to the dealership to have them look at it, but let me know how you fare....

The side mirrors should DEFINITELY hold key memory and memory button (side of seat cushion) settings. Mine do thank god.

On my X5 the steering wheel power tilt and telescope also is part of the memory. BTW the X5 had to have programming done 3 times before the key memory worked correctly.

You have software programming issues I would guess. They should be able to take care of it.
