aren't suppose the side mirror of the BMW turn to blue color when at night someone head lights so bright? I know the rear mirror turn color to prevent blind by behind car. I have a 03 330CI and my side mirror didn't change any color and I got blinded lastnight by a huge truck..any comment on this? thanks

Hmm, I don't believe they have that on the 3 series. Maybe another person can help you here.

When that happens to me, I normally flip my side mirror back at them.

The side mirrors in the 330 Ci are NOT active. Meaning they do not change color in response to lights behind you. That feature is active only in the rear view mirror in vehicles equipped with the active rear view mirror.

Check out the on-line newsletter for BMW owners. There is a section on how to set your outside mirrors to prevent blind spots. Since moving to the Philadelphia area two years ago and having to drive I95 I found setting my mirrors this way is the best. It takes a while to get used to, but I won't have it any other way now. err, mine are blue normally. They don't change any darker tho. They do heat up supposedly, but since I'm in SoCal and it's summer, there hasn't been any frost or morning dew for me to check.

First, thanks everyone for the great reply. I was assume that the side mirror will dim when the light hit..I guess I'm wrong.I can tell the side mirror have little blue tint to it.
