Silver Coated Bulbs for Clear Corners?s

I have "clear corners" installed on my 330ci

Does anyone out there use the silver coated turn signal bulbs? They elliminate the "egg yolk" look in the clear turn signals but still appear amber in color when lit.

Are they legal in the US?

Does anyone know where to buy them?

A cheaper way is to lightly spray your ambers with high temperature silver spray paint. I did this and am very happy with the result for the price of a spray can. If you don't get it right - too much, too little or just an uneven coating, it will wipe off with mineral turps even after half an hour and you just reapply the spray again until your happy.

I did this back in November and all the bulbs work fine still.

yes they're legal. There are several manufacturers out there. None are perfect though.

Try out the Phillips Silver vision. I have those in my clear corners (check the sig) and it looks very nice. They blink with a rich orange color.
