I just got the parts for Sirius from Circle BMW (well done bunch of folks... they know what they're talking about...).

I called my local BMW dealers (Desert Las Vegas & Desert Henderson).

One told me the install would cost over $200... but they wouldn't give an estimate until they looked at it... which would be next Thursday at the earliest.

The other told me it's simply not possible to install, and that Circle BMW sold me bogus parts.

Truth check... Here we go. It works... it takes no time and hardly any effort to install.

I installed the Sirius module in about 30 minutes using the supplied Circle BMW instructions. I am by no means mechanically inclined, and it works... it's hidden (as it should be), and all is well with the world.

It took me such a short amount of time, it didn't occur to me to put a DIY guide up until I was all done... the only tricky bit is antenna placement. I put mine on the rear deck of the car, and fished the antenna wire through the seats. There's probably a more elegant way to mount the antenna... and one day I may care to look into it. But for now... it works!

I paid $344.90 including shipping.

This included the Sirius module, mounting and installation kit and a Sirius Antenna. I do not have a CD Changer, but if I did there was another cable I would have needed to purchase for about $25.

I'll see about getting some picks up shortly.

Reception has been very good. I live in Las Vegas, so there isn't much in the way of sky obstruction here (wide open deserts). There is a tunnel which goes under the runway at McCarren airport. I briefly lost signal driving through this tunnel (about .3 miles long).

It's nice to have, and when I move back east (I'm looking for work BTW in or around Orange County, NY), this will be killer for long(er) couutes.
