Really love my Sirius radio - particularly the NFL and NHL coverage, etc. I was able to install the antenna but I'm having some difficulty with the receiver.

If you have the Starmate - and own a 2000 BMW 323i or similar model - where did you mountthe receiver on the dash?

I don't mind having it professionally installed at Best Buy or Circuit City - BUT - I want to have an idea what your experience and best pracitce is relating to this unit. Anything I should consider or know?

Please advise. Greatly appreciated.

I have the startmate and I mounted it to the back of the storage compartment under the Heater/AC controls. I ran the wires inside and ended up putting th eantenna un the rear window, works perfect...then I ran the power wire in the back into the glovebox and got one of those adapters to transform my flashlight plug into an outlet. No wires running around the car and looks good.

Hah, I have the exact same one, I mounted it with the suction cup to the bottom left of the front window, next to the dash. It's out of my way, but right there so I can fool with it without taking my eyes off the road. Ran my wires down the door frame, along the inside foot panel to the back for the antenna, and the power I ran again down the left panel, under the steering wheel console, back 'under' the panel, and right into the Cig lighter.

I'll get a shot or 2 tomorrow and post. It's setup so that if I 'did' want to remove it all (To put in my wifes car for instance) it wouldn't be 'that' bad to do. No wires are visible except for the one that 'emerges' from the panel and goes into the cig lighter.

Circuit City used the suction cup and put mine on the front winshield just above the inspection sticker ... so that it comes out and presents the Starmate as if it's sitting right on the dash to the left of the steering wheel. I had to get used to it ... it felt like a little bit of my field of view was blocked at first. But I got used to it pretty quickly.
