Hi all,

I own a '99 323i, gone 27k miles. Has manual transmission. I tore the front plastic seating when backing out over a parking block. Went to a repair shop, they replaced the plastic airflow part and an air flow sensor that sits under the right lights. When they ran the diagnostics to reset the codes, they saw that SIX sensors were out, including the O2, both CAM, MAP sensor and a couple of others. Is that possible?

Symptoms are extremely sluggish pickup most of the time. Stalls at lower speeds, particularly when clutch is pressed.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

I am 99% sure that if both cam sensors were out the car would not run AT ALL - the ECU would not know the position of the cam/crank/pistons and therefore when to fire the spark and injectors.

Sounds highly questionable to me.

Problem fixed by dealership

I took the car down to the dealership and had it fixed. Apparently both, intake and exhaust sensors were bad. They replaced the parts and works like a charm!!

Thanks to all! [^]

after reading this post, all I can say is that so called 'mechanics' should be shot!!!!!! Over in the U.K. we have many mechanics who call themselves specialists but in reality they don't actually have a clue about the car.
