slipping clutch???

hey im very new to the BMW scene im sure this is a very frequently asked question. When you press on the clutch pettal is it supposed to be stiff untill about halfway and then gets loose too the floor cause my friend pushed it down and he said my clutich may be slipping i was just wondering if its supposed to do that because the ingageing point i can feel in the last part as i let out the clutch. if anyone can tell me whats going on that would be a real help!!

a slipping clutch is when you let it out to start moving and it slips, making you not move too well. Clutch pedal going from stiff to not so stiff sounds normal to me, unless its like going from a race car clutch to a honda clutch.

That made me laugh.

When my clutch crapped out on me, it would slip when accelerating in third gear - I'd press the gas, and the clutch would slip. If your clutch isn't slipping when in gear and accelerating..... well, then it probably isn't slipping.
