Ok well a while ago I posed that I had a creaking sound from my rear end and it was suggested to be a Rear subframe mounts or rear shock mounts. Well it went away so I didn't think to much of it. But today driving home from school it came back as more of a knocking/creaking sound. Its just from the back right wheel from what I can hear and I only hear it if i brake/acclerate hard or take a corner hard. Also we just got the first huge ass snow and I found my car really sucks for winter. I don't get to park in a garage so when it snows my driver door ALWAYS ices shut, the lock will freeze up and I have to crawl in through the passenger door. If I can get it unstuck it won't latch anymore and I have to thaw the car out. 2nd when I start up my steering rack is really noisy. When I move the wheel I can hear it "bvvrrring" im using 10w40 and I have to get my oil changed in about 200 miles. Should I put a heavy oil in or a light for winter?

Thanks guys

rear end... i can't think of anything sorry bro.

i have the same problem in the winter with my lock. i hate it. I ended up getting an alarm so i could press the door unlock button and turn the key at the same time so it would help me out. pretty bad huh? One thing i did find though is that once you get the lock open and you can't get it to latch again is take the inside door 'unlocker' and pull up on it until it clicks. then your door will close and stay shut.

as far as the bvvrrring..... i found that my steering rack was leaking into both of my boots, until they eventually popped and exploded everywhere. i thought i was leaking fluid elsewhere until that happened. had to put in a new rack (which was a pain and 250 dollars). Anyway i guess what i'm saying is that you prob need more power steering fluid. It says to use ATF. I'm not sure where you are going with the 10w40 and oil change. have you checked your power steering fluid? if it is low fill it pronto, your pump will burn out with the quickness.

hope something helps

With the steering fluid it only seems to be loud when its cold out. When my car warms up I don't hear it. Maybe the fluid is just thicker when its cold. Im putting my black seats in tommow so I think i will rip my door panel out and see whats messing my lock up. I think its the lock auctuator, because yet again today I could not unlock my door (rest did though).

Thanks

are you using ATF? atf should not get any thinker in the winter.

the manual calls for ATF i wouldn't put anything else in there.

if you figure out what the deal is with the lock let me know. i don't have the heart to rip my door apart. well that and i'm too lazy. i've only taken apart american car doors and they need new clips when you do that so i don't want to mess with mine unless i know what i need to fix.

equate,

I know exactly what you are talking about with the power steering noise - my car does the exact same thing. It's a pretty loud noise (not belt related) and goes away after about 3 minutes of driving. My fluid level is fine, and the system works fine - it's just noisy when cold.

my powering steering leaks and i havn't bothered to take the time to fix it, it makes a "clicking/creeking noise... SO i just removed the belt from the pulley altogether. Its REALLY a luxury on a car that weighs 2460lbs. lol. But i tell ya, it IS nice to have it connected. no effort steering! lol
