Some Pics of My Silver Grey 330ci ZHP

Hey Folks,

New member here... Just got my hands on a new 330ci. What a ride! I'm in love. Anyways, here are some pics. Had to compress them due to silly file size limitations on this board. What's up with that.

Cheers,
\Mishka

Welcome to the board! I love those wheels. I've been waiting for my 6 year-olds to get just a little more scraped before I go for new ones. What size are those? Have you priced replacement tires, are they crazy low-profile expensive? And are you able to keep them clean inbetween the narrow part of the spokes?

One more question if you don't mind, what's the skinny on the Alcazera (sp? can never remember what to call that material) on the steering wheel. Is it supposed to outlast leather? How does it feel?

Great pics! [welcome]

So how do you like driving it? i thought if you got leather, you get the leather steering wheel. i'm buying a 2005 zhp w/leather and my broker assured me it will have the leather steering wheel. has this changed? thanks.

It is alcantra steering wheel, it absorbs moisture more than leather does. It is suppose to help with grip also.

Dude, for the love of all that is holy take off the front lincense plate please!.

Also you get it in steptronic? Saddens me.

Here we go again rp911t......There is nothing wrong with a steptronic ZHP.....and until you (rp911t) own one yourself, stop flaming people who do, like myself and our new friend Mishka. For g-d sakes, he's had his ZHP less than 2 days! Why do you need to buzzkill his ride and his first photos!?

Welcome to the group Mishka, your ZHP looks awesome! I love mine, and I love the option of steptronic when I want to downshift and so will you.

Enjoy!

Those are 18". They are great, but as several folks on this board noted before, will be a pain to clean. I can see it already after taking a trip this weekend along the West coast on Route 1. Dirt gets in between the double spokes, will be difficult to get in there. Haven't cleaned them yet. Love those rims regardless. Replacements will proably be a pretty penny, haven't priced them yet.

The Alcantra steering wheel feels really great. It felt a bit weird at first, probably for the first 5 minutes of driving, but afterwards I couldn't imagine how I've been driving without it. I like it a lot. Will see about wear and tear. Hard to say how long it'll last. Hopefully forever...

Yeah, I was gonna take the license plate off, but couldn't immediately find a replacement. I turned the plate over, it was plain white, and it didn't look very good. Any suggestions while I wait for the actual plates?

As for steptronic, it feels right as I'm not much of a manual guy. Too lazy for those clutch/shift manipulations... [8]

As far as I know, if you get a ZHP, it comes with an Alcantra steering wheel (with an M logo) regardless of the leather option. Maybe they changed the perf. package for 2005, I don't know.

I love driving it! Of course, it's my first Bimmer, and my last car was a dog with fleas, so right now this is heaven.

Prior to your trip, clean them, apply a good spray wax afterwards and they will be easier to clean in the future. Just my $.02

[welcome] mishka,

I have the 'ZHP' 6-speed...

To keep your rims clean just take a micro-fiber towel, wet it & wring it out and then
wipe them [rims] down.

If you fold the towel over [once] you can get in between the double spokes without
any problems... [^]

I bought a hydraulic jack and torque wrench and take off my rims approx. every 4-5 weeks. You wouldn't believe all the gunk that gets built-up behind the rims,
whatever style they are.
