Since I have a RockFord Fosgate system in my car, I am bias to RF. 2-10" with a +400 watt amp should do nicely.

For Receivers I like Kenwood.

Tom, maybe you could help me as well... I hooked up my amp and sub today (WITHOUT disconnecting the battery - didn't need radio code [thumb] ); the amp works perfectly, but the sub does not hit at all... The problem is somewhere between the amp and the sub. I'm using Rockford Fosgate 10 guage (not sure on size, but its huge) speaker wire for the sub. Should I take the amp and have it looked at for an internal problem?

Here are the sites I usually check.
Cartoys
Crutchfield
Yahoo Shopping

If you get a wiring harness and mounting kit, you can pretty much use any receiver on the market.

Evan, how many watts is your amp pushing? Do you know if it has a built in crossover? Normally if you get an external crossover or EQ, you can get much better sound quality.

Tom, it's only a 120w RMS (240w max) amplifier. I do have a crossover, and have it set up. The amp works fine, and you can tell there's a signal going into it (Pioneer put a light on it so you can tell when it's on/pumping sound), but there's nothing coming out of the sub. Could it be an Ohm discrepancy? My rear speakers are 2ohm, the amp is 2 as well, I believe, but I'm not sure what the sub is (the sub works on my 8ohm home stereo thought ???). Could that be the problem (need a new sub?), or do you think it's an internal amplifier malfunction?
