I have a '03 325 with 15k miles, I have had the car in for reg maintenance twice.

Since I've had the car for two years now do I need to change the spark plugs?

Has anyone changed the spark plugs or had it done as part of the reg scheduled
maintenance?

There are no spark plugs..............there are (6) ignition cylinder coils. Mine were changed at 40,000 miles under warranty due to misfire on one cylinder........

[thumb] I believe that your bimmer ignition cylinder coils or good ole spark plugs get changed at 100,000 miles. I got my first (6) ignition cylinder coils changed at 100K and am about to get my next replacement at 200,000 miles at my next tune-up. I get all of my scheduled maintenance done religiously at 30,000 mile intervals. I have had no trouble whatsoever with my ignition cylinder coils.
Happy Motoring...[driving2]

Another hint from a professional here, so laughing, the 2003 model does not have (6) ignition coils that are holding up to BMW standards, therefore all of mine were replaced when one misfired and replaced with another brand that BMW was now using and recommending.............at least that's the information I received......I also asked if you know its a problem, why didnt you change them during one of my service intervals or one of the many times I visit automatically..........ahhhhh contrare, we must wait for one to misfire and then BMWNA will approve the replacement of all six...........hmmmmmmmm [confused]

Your cars do have spark plugs, the ignition coils sit on top of the plugs replacing the spark plug wire. Your spark plugs are scheduled to be replaced at 50 or 100k. Ignition coils need to be replaced when they fail. Here is a photo of the ignition coil and as you can see your spark plug goes into the long round end.
