Sports Mode to Drive Mode

I've had this happen to me a few times and the dealer can't reproduce this. I'm driving agressively in Drive Mode and tap over to Sports Mode and continue at high revs. At some point I tap back to Drive Mode but notice that it's stuck in a low gear. I can be decelarating and crusing at about 20 MPH but the RPMs are at about 3500-5000. The only way to 'cure' this is to tap back to Sports Mode and then to Drive. I've discovered that to prevent this from happening frequently I wait till I'm in lower RPMs to shift back to Drive from Sports Mode. Has anyone had this happen to them?

I have had the same happen. If I have the rev up in sports mode tap over to Drive but still have my foot down. I beleive it is because the car is not sure if you are still needing the power so it waits until it is sure you are just cruising.

Did you have to do the same thing as me to clear the problem, i.e. switch back to S and then to D?

isn'ter there something where the regular "drive mode" tries to adjust to the aggressiveness of your drive? If it feels you are a reserved driver the the car will act tame...and if you drive aggressive, it will do the downshifts. I think thats why when I go to drive after coming from sports mode, it still keeps the revs high.
