Standard equipment vs options.

In Australia we tend to pay more for 'luxury' vehicles, due in part to the luxury tax (for cars above $57,000), import tariffs, sales tax and stamp duty. To compensate, importers of luxury vehicles tend to include a lot equipment as standard, which in other markets would be options.

I'm interested when you bought your car what came as standard and what options you payed extra for.

For me, I recently purchased an '04 330Ci:

Standard
BiXenon headlights
Rain sensor
Leather interior
Sports seats with memory
Widescreen TV console and in-dash CD
68 M double spoke 17" wheels (wider at rear)
Multi-function steering wheel
Clear indicator lenses
Parking Distance Control
6 speed manual transmission
Sports suspension
Headlight washer system
Front arm rest
Auto dipping rear-view mirror
10 speaker Hi-Fi
Wood trim
Bluetooth enabled cell phone interface
LED tail lights

Options
Sun roof
Adaptive headlights
Nappa leather
Climate comfort windscreen
M Sports Package II
18 inch wheels

Standard:
The car
Sports suspension and 3-spoke steering wheel (cuz it's a coupe)
16 inch tires
5 speed manual
trip computer
cd player
leatherette seating surface (rubber basically)

Options:
Sports Package (sports seats, clear corners, and 17 inch wheels)
Moonroof
Steptronic
Bi-Xenons
Metallic Paint

I paid around $33,000. I know the 04s got LED taillights and autoheadlights standard. I really debated btw getting an 03 and 04 cuz I wanted those changes and the adaptive xenons but didn't like the new updated look. I chose the old look instead of the cooler features.

Truth be told, I prefer the older look too. I'm not crazy about the turned up headlights (on the sides) and the front (standard) bumper. However, with the performance package, the bumbers are radically different - more M3 in appearance, which goes a long way to improving the overall look.

Couldn't get performance package on the coupe when I bought it. [:(] I agree it does look better though. If this were Canada or the rest of the world where you can order it from the factory like that, I prolly woulda shelled out and gotten it. Since the US was pretty restricted, I just got as base as I could.
