Starter is spinning and not engaging. How do you check the fly wheel? Can you replace the seloniod without removing the starter? Any tips on accessing the bolts to remove the starter?

First off, get yourself the proper bently manual from bav auto or somewhere. (Bav auto part number B390 - put that number in "search")

There are 2 things that could be wrong with it (Source: Bently manual), first the solenoid could be bad, or the start drive pinion or armature shaft could be fualty.

You'll simply need a new starter. Nothing you can really repair, bav auto part number SR443X, or go to an auto parts store and prob find it a little cheaper.

what do you mean?? you can put a new seleniod on a starter, may not be worth it but you can.
No you have to replace the entire starter, but i'm just saying, it could be the solenoid that went bad which just means a new starter. Starters arent cheap, so try ebay, junkyard, or maybe a rebuilt starter.

Read the Bentley manual your referenced. The solenoid CAN be replaced separately and you have to remove the starter to replace the solenoid.
