Some Honda ran me off the road last night, I hit the curb. The underbody panel according to the repair guys is totally jacked and BMW doesn't sell that major part. I'm just going to have to focus on the positives 1) I'm ok(but definatly don't feel ok) 2) insurance

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! my friends are taking me out tonite... sniffles.... and I just got my baby in Dec :'( [xx(]

Had you asked a few places. Especially dealership recommended body shops. I just find that hard to believe. I had some idiot run into me at about 75mph while we were stopped on the Freeway. I went to a body shop that only handles german cars and they reset the unibody using something imported from France. You can't even tell the difference in the ride or the body.

The way the guy explained it to me, it sounded like even if they could get that part, to fix it would be like rebuilding a whole new car. I think its better totaled :( I now gotta make sure my insurance doesn't jip me, I paid a lot less then what this car is worth(both blue book and autotrader) I'd like to get the amount of its worth not what I paid for it, but I guess I can't be too optimistic in that department.

I need to get that taken care off then sigh... I'll try find another one, probably will look at the coupe versions now. Sigh every time there is a sunny day :'(

I swear when I stepped out and got down on my knees touching it, seemed like I lost a loved one.

thx btw for the replies, I appreciate them all :')

.. bury her w/ fond memories.. she did her job and kept you in one piece.

i don't think insurance co look at your purchase price, but rather average out 10 or so cars that are similarily equipped and similar milage. so if you got a good deal, you are prolly in a good shape.. once you get over the...........

Think of it this way....UPGRADE TIME. Could be a blessing in disguise. (But you're have to do the Bangle face lift....nothing like the 7 though.)

Sorry to here of your misfortune. It sure sucks when that happens. I had a similar experience on New Years day. On New Years eve I was notified that my 1989 325i had won its class in the 2003 photo contest sponsored by Bavarian Autosport. At 1:30 PM on New Years day it was a total. I got cut off, spun and hit a concrete barrier at 50-60 mph first with the right front and then the right rear before landing on its side. The sob kept going. I got out thru the sunroof with no injuries. I had a witness that stopped so no citation was issued by Nevada Highway Patrol (I managed to avoid other cars) and thus no insurance increase. The car went down as a hero. On Jan 2, after going up on the ladder to take down Christmas lights in the a.m. I visited the local BMW dealer in the afternoon. I ordered a new 330i w/ZHP and love it. I still miss my 1989 tho (it had lots of mods) but life goes on. Good luck with whatever your next car is if yours can't be fixed.
