I was recently at the dealership and had my car serviced. After I left I stopped at a gas station before going home.
When I started the car again and turned the steering wheel over I could hear a sound that was sort of like metal cables streching or rubbing against each other. It was especially noticable when I turned the wheel over to the right.
I brought it back and the noise stopped. The mechanic could not find anything that would cause it. The steering fluid is good and he took it for a long road test.
About 2 weeks later the noise started again. It was there when I was driving at low speeds and turning the wheel. After I stopped driving for a bit the noise went away again.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? It is not consistent and I can find nothing obvious as to what makes this happen.
Any advice is appreciated.
