Stupid Question

Ok I Kind Of Know Why But I M Not 2 Sure .....so .. Why Do I Hear A Beep Whenever The Temp Ouside Is 3 C( 38 F) ? The " Critical " Temp Is Not 0 C?
Just Curious Why 3 C?tk's !

isnt 4 degrees (or -4) the freezing temperature of water? and hence a warning for icy roads?

"Somebody" at BMW decided that it is better to warn you BEFORE it is freezing air temperature, presumably because there COULD be ice on the road/bridges when the air temperature is 36 - 37 degrees.
