Throwout bearing noise

I replaced the clutch and throwout bearing 2 weeks ago becuase of a failing throwout bearing.

The new one makes the SAME noises if the tranny is in neutral and I let off the clutch. It makes that fun rattling sound. The pedal is smooth as SILK but I assume that just by design, the release fork itself doesnt 'pull' at the throwout bearing, just pushes it, and just hopefully the throwout bearing would loose contact with the fingers on the pressure plate.

Is this just normal? I'm 100000% positive we did everything right.

My 87' 325is makes the same rattling with the clutch out in neutral; which sounds a lot like the noise my failing throw-out bearing made with the clutch in. After I replaced it I worried that I had done something wrong, but couldn't imagine what I could possibly have done wrong. I've put over 4000 miles on it since then with no noticeable changes and I've decided that it is normal.
Although I rarely ever let the clutch out in neutral cause rattling noises make me cringe [paranoid]

Ah yes when I first put it on I thought the same thing... "oh shit dont tell me i have to take this apart again..."

If I'm sitting at a light I'll let it in neutral. Really, there's no "stress" on the throwout bearing when you're in neutral with the clutch pedal out, its job is to provide pressure while spinning. So I kind of assume it'll save life if I do that. Though, this was the original TOB from the original clutch!! 181,000 miles on the factory clutch and throwout bearing, clutch still had a lot of life left!!!
