Okay. . .I know everyone will have thoughts on what the "best" tire is. . .

I'm considering Pirelli PZero Nero 225/45/17s for my 330CiC. Anyone have any experience with these tires? Thoughts?

What about Kuhmo Ecsta ASX tires?

I'm just looking for a general all-season performance tire. . .not winter or summer specific, or ultra-high performance.

Thanks.

The Pirelli PZeros are excellent tires that I would buy again. I have also used the Kuhmo Ecsta tires and the pros are they are less expensive, and tread wear is excellent. The cons are they just do not grip as well as the Pirellis or the Pilot Sports. For daily use the Kuhmo's will do, but if you want spirited and track driving go with the Pirelli's.

I'm on Pirelli PZero Nero M&S tires, 7k logged, and I *still* have a few rubber nips on the sides. Tire wear is very low at this point, and I'm a fairly aggressive daily driver.

They grip very well for all seasons, you may not get the 'bite' you get with Proxies, but you also pocket a few hunderd for not getting the proxies.. [;)]

For having a 480 treadwear, it grips exceptionally well, better than the Kumho 712 and 711's I've have before, and as good as Falkens I've had in the past. The falkens lasted 20k (and that was pushing it), The Kumho's lasted about 22k. I estimate these will go 30k fairly easily by the current tread wear.

I just put on a set of P Zero Nero M&S yesterday. Obviously I can't comment on their performance just yet, but it's good to see others are having positive experience with them. TireRack customer feedback on these tires was excellent as well.

[thumb] Man, finally a person after my own heart... I started out driving the Dunlop 2000's that came on the car, hated them, no snow traction what so ever... I then converted to the Dunlop 5000's an excellent wet and pretty good snow tire however they did not make an 18" tire for my wheels. I did the research on several sites including Tire Rack and came up with the ultimate All-Season tire. Yes, you guessed it the Pirilli M&S P-Zero Nero. It handles supremely on dry roads, excells in the rain and handles like a muther in the snow and ice. I have never before loved a tire so much, because a tire has never let me push my vehicle to the limits in all weather driving situations. Simply stated, the Perilli M&S P-Zero Nero is the finest tire I have driven in my 24 plus years of motoring. That's my two and a half cents worth. I just hope you get a third of the enjoyment I've gotten from them. Happy Motoring... [driving2]

They must be very popular. I'm considering them for the 325. If you look at Tire Rack's inventory, you will see that some sizes are out of stock until September or October!!

When I ordered mine they said they were out of stock and the estimated shipping date was three weeks away. They ended up arriving at my installer only 4 days after my order was placed. You may get yours a lot sooner than the estimated date.

Just installed PZero Nero M+S and hope to experience all the rave its earning. Tire Rack recommended this tire over any all-season. I went with a different size because the size I needed was not available until Nov 04. From what I have read, this all-season tire is the best you can get.

Just got my PZero Nero M+S installed today on my 2001 325i w/Sport Package! I ordered them through tirerack.com a while back. I used to have the Yokohama AVS ES100 and went from loving the tires to absolutely hating them. They were so loud that it completely vibrated my sports suspension; many have reported the same effect. The PZero sounds like the ultimate all-season tire and for the price, I had to give them a try. I only have like 4 miles on them, but what a difference I tell you! The car is quiet on the road!

Cheers,
Armando

I just got a set of BMW chrome wheels and they came with "Continential ContiSport Contacts" direct from BMW. I kept my Michelin's just in case. However, so far no complaints and thay have a nice looking tread design.

When I had my Jetta and I purchased my rims, I purchased Continental ContiExtremeContact tires (Ultra High Performance All-Seasons from TireRack). They were only like $130 each when I purchased them (now around $110 each) and they were really great tires. Really great dry-road traction for good acceleration and handling, really confident wet traction when driving in the rain, and surprisingly good snow traction -- like your typical all-season tire, if you push them too hard in the snow, they will lose traction easily but just taking it nice and easy and keeping the rpm's low in the Jetta, I was able to get anywhere with the FWD Jetta even in the worst snow storms that winter had to offer.
