what is the correct tire pressure for front/rear?
the manual said 32 for fronts and 38 for the rear but when i checked the pressure, front tires had about 34-35 and the rear ones had 39-40.
btw, my car is 3 weeks old and has 18" style 71 rims.

I have the same rims with Michelin Pilot Sports. I'd definitely go with pressures recommended by BMW, 32 up front and 38 in the rear. Of course, those pressures are for cold tires. BTW, mine will be three weeks old tomorrow, so you must have picked yours up about the same time. My order to delivery time was 72 days! Enjoy. [thumb]

I have the same set of tires too ....
the recommended pressure is for 3 -4 ppl load ... in my case, i am driving by myself most of the time so having 32 F / 38 R would be too much in my opinion ....

I have 30 F / 36 R right now 9cold measure of course) ...seems pretty good .... 2 lbs off the recommeded ...

give it a try and see which you liek best ...

Personally, I always recommend going with what is recommended in the owners' manual for Full Load. Although you may not always have 4 people in your car or whatever, the increased tire pressure provides better handling. Not only that, I like to run 1 or 2 psi over. For example, my G35 Coupe has to have 35 psi in all four tires (regardless of passenger load, 35psi is the only rating listen in the owners' manual). But even the guys at the Infiniti dealership filled it up with 36psi in all four tires, and I am going to keep it that way.
As for why your tires were not filled up according to the manual, the guys who prep your car (at your dealership), prep about 10 cars per day, and they are stupid and lazy and they don't always bother to fill up your tires with the correct pressure rating. That's why when you take delivery of your car, you should always check your tire pressure, and check it once a month thereafter.

Thanx MrElussive,

I tried to pump to the recommended pressure to giv eit a try and indeed the response and handling imporved ... a mere 2 lbs makes the lot of differences IMO. Thanx again ..

to all, try to pump it to the recommeded and give it a try, you might like the feel of it ...
