Own a 2000 323Ci. Have bald original 205/55-16 Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus tires. Considering replacement with same size Bridgestone G009 or Yokohoma Avid V4S. Does anyone have experience with these tires?

I have used the Yokohama before and it is a good quality overall tire. Other good ones to consider are Toyos, great tires, and Kuhmos. The Kuhmos are less expensive and handle well, the Toyo Proxes are a super performance tire.

[thumb] I have never driven either of those brands. I'm extremely pleased with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S and the Toyo Proxes 4. Might I suggest you take a gander at The Tire Rack decision tire matrix to see how the tires you desire stack up against various different brands. Happy Motoring...

Tires

Well, I am a first time buyer of a 99 328I just 1week ago, and I will telll you it has Michelin Energy tires on it, and I do not like these tires. They confrim all my experience with these on any other car, they are slick in the rain. In my experience so far, any tire than lasts long is hard rubber, and do not do well in the rain. Have some Sumitomos on a Volvo S70, same problem.
Have not been happy with Bridgestone tires, noisy and just nothing great.
Best tires I used so far are Riken and Kumho. Not the real high price sporty ones either. Either of those two have done well for noise, comfort, and grip in dry or wet. They don't last forever, but for safety and comfort I would go with them.
Tire Rack sells the Kumho All Season HP4716 for $62 each for my car, and I will order some soon.

I went with the wider 225/50R on the 16" wheels recommended size for our car the last time I changed them. Previously I had always replaced the factory size of....what was that....205/55?. I went to Discount Tire, and got some yokahamas. I've been pretty happy with them. Check your door jam for alternative sizes. BMW is pretty good about giving you the options.

My 330 is due for new tires as well.

It came stock with "Continental ContiSportContact", which I've been happy
with, but many of the online reviews posted have been very negative:

The above model has been replaced with a "ContiSportContact 2" model, and
the tread looks nice:

Also, both these are "summer" tires, and in the Northeast we see
a good amount of snow each winter.

But the "all season" ContiExtremeContact tires seem to have a less
aggressive tread design, which is puzzling:

I'm currently leaning towards the "ContiSportContact 2", any thoughts?
