Tire Rotation?

BMW will tell you to NOT rotate your tires (assuming they are all the same size). For some reason, they believe your tires find their groove at one location and should stay their for their life.

This is of course contradictory to everything we have been taught about tires and cars.

I went with their logic on my X5 and ended up getting 50K miles out of the stock tires, with perfect tread wear all the way around. Fascinating.

You can rotate them every 6K miles as normal convention would tell you to, or just leave them alone and believe what you hear.

Sorry I am of no help. Luckily (or unluckily) this is not an issue for me as my fronts and rears are different sizes.

Yeah, the dealer told me that rotating them was not necessary, but when I took my snows off a few months ago, I switched my summer tires around, since the rears were definitely more worn than the fronts.
