Have 2004 BMW 330ci with 18inch wheels, which somewhat limits tire selection.
Originally had Bridgeston OE50 runflats which lasted 22K miles (front worn bare).
I replaced with Falcon 512's, and after 12K miles front is completely worn at sides (despite proper alignment balancing inflation)

For 18 inch version, anyone know of tires with longest life, or at least longer than 22K?

Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's. I have them on my M roadster in the 17 inch size and they are wearing real well. I have over 20k on them and they should make it another 10-15 easily, not to mention they are only about $100.00 - $170.00 in your sizes. They handle well, not a good as Toyo Proxes or the Piolt Sports, but they are a very good daily driver tire. Tread wear is measured by the UTOG rating.

I agree with Big Daddy, if you can find kumho's in your size, that's your best bet. I've only got 14K miles and need to replace my rears badly. [paranoid]

for longer tire life, stay away from ultra perf summers. they wear out like no tomorrow, and cost quite a bit to replace.

check out tirerack.com and look at the ratings for different tires. they have a catagory for tread wear, i'd consult that. (sorry no direct link, my broadband's acting up..)

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I read about a thousand reviews on tirerack and then couple other tire sites.

I think the best two (out of the 72 tires I could find that will fit) for tread wear are the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's (out of about 30 reviewers that gave tread life) about 30K miles average, similar to Big Daddy. The other was Pzero Nero MS (all weather version) which averaged 30-35K as opposed to the summer neros last 20K average. All the others averaged 20K or less, and cost more (ultra perf) which I am not intereted in.

I will get one of the two, Thanks again for the help.

[thumb] I usually get 50K to 60K from P-Zero Neros and Toyo Proxes 4's. They are both exceptional All-Season Ultra High Proformance radials with tremendous capabilities. I will never buy any other brands. I get my four wheel alignment approximately every 10K, never rotate ever... Its amazing because both these brands last and last...
Happy Motoring...[driving2]
