The Z was horrible in snow and overrated in power. Plus, it had a cheap interior and harsh ride. I do not miss the Z at all.

I took the 350Z for a drive in the Summer, but ended up getting the 330XI instead. It is incredible in the snow!!! It totally out performs my 2 other SUV's!!!
I didn't have any intention to buy the 350Z in the first place. I just wanted to test drive it.

I will have pictures by next week. You guys are cool unlike some of the guys on the 350Z site who crucified me when I told them I was buying a BMW.

i wonder that there actually is negative feedback on the Z. as far as the optics go i like it a lot and till now i thought that the power it delivers is really decent to put it that way.

anyway glad you found the way here. enjoy the new ride!

The Z was overrated as it has 287 at the crank but only 220-230 at the wheels. That is a 20% drivetrain loss. I heard that 330s have 225 at the crank and 205 at the wheels. That is only a 10% loss. Plus, that car has tire feathering problems due to misalignment and soft tread. German engineering seems superior to me.

Yeah, there is a recall about it, it was a suspension issue for early 2003 models, I believe...wore out the tires wrong and super quick. You really were not impressed with the power? My car has the same engine as the 350Z, minus 7 horsepower and some additional weight, but my car never ceases to snap me back into my seat when I punch it in 1st, 2nd, 3rd. You just have to be in the high revs....the engine starts to kickass after 3,000rpm and is in full kickass mode after 4,000rpm. By the way, what 350Z forum were you on?

"By the way, what 350Z forum were you on?"

350zforum.com and zcar.com

"You really were not impressed with the power?"

It was okay until there was another passenger in the car. Then it felt bogged down. I mean, for a dedicated two seater sports car, I was disappointed. If it was a G35 with four seats, it would be awesome.

Yeah, BMW's torque curve is really much better (very flat throughout the rev band) and you definitely notice it with other passengers in the car. Sometimes on the week-ends my car is full with four people in it and the engine does feel a bit bogged down. But at least back-seat passengers aren't complaining about the room or anything.

Wow - I haven't driven a 350Z, but I have thought about looking into getting one next year. I have heard really nice things about them.........

Congrats on the purchase!

i was just thinking, it seems highly unlikely that the 330xi will put 205 to the wheels, AWD usually suffers from a lot more drivetain power loss. any thoughts?

Bye bye Nissan...

No more plastic interior, tire feathering, drifting to the right, bouncy ride, grinding tranny, rattling dash, crappy stereo and paint chips.
