Tranny Problem

I have a 99 323i with a 5 speed. Every now and again when the revs are not too high or I am not paying attention, the shifter kicks back out of third with a little grind. Is the synchro for that gear bad? Anyone else have that kind of problem?

sounds like a synchro problem to me. or it could be something in the shifter. how does it happen again?

Generally when you do not have the revs up high enough, >3000 for instance or when you do that lackadaisacal shift or downshift into third. I don't think it has to do with clutch gas coordination because it has done it when I have been paying particular attention to the clutch. Only does it every once in a while, not every shift.
