trans question

does the M20/B25 and M20/B27 share the same bellhousing and trans. as far as i know they share the same basic block, all i need to know is if the trand from one will bolt up to the other. the reason i ask is that there is an 87 325i on ebay that is up for parts/project, i ran the carfax and it came up as a 325e, but euther way, does anyone know if the transmissions are interchangable? heres the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4500118355&fromMakeTrack=true

Yes, the transmissions should be interchangeable. The blocks are the same.

Yep, that car in the auction is a 325e, not a 325i. Technically, since it is an '87 and a coupe, it is just a 325. The 4 door was called the 325e in '87, while the coupe was just called the 325. Mechanically, it's the same as the 325e (eta engine).
