So I just purchased a 2004 325i and right before I got the car, the dealership gave my car a synthetic oil change. However, they forgot to reset the oil change mileage and so a few days later, my oil indicator came on. I called the dealership and they told me how to reset the oil mileage, but for some reason it will not reset!

I am sure I am doing it correctly, too...

The key is at 0.
I press down the left odometer and then turn the key to 1.
It flashes "service" and "reset"
After I let go as I was told to, it now says
"SIA INSPECTION"
and then SIA END.

It won't reset and now as I go through the same ritual, it will only say "SIA INSPECTION"

Does anyone know what this means?!?!?

Please help. I'm new to all of this. And, I'm not so car saavy so I don't want to have to worry about a new car that I just purchased......... =(

To reset the indicator:-The car should be off-hold down the left instrument button (the trip odometer reset)
-while holding the key, turn the ignition to position 1 (radio)
-you will see a test menu
-keep holding the button
-after maybe 10 seconds, the word "reset" will appear
-let go of the button and press again
-The indicator is reset!
