Trunk Release Button....

Hi all:

I was wondering if someone could help me figure this out. I have a 2003 330xi and the trunk release button on the inside of the car does not seem to work. Is this as simple as replacing a fuse maybe? I am thinking it would be a fuse due to the fact that the trunk relesase button on my key works.... and it does open the trunk. Its only when I press the button in the car that the trunk does not release.... Thanks to all for your help in advance.

The button won't work unless the car is stationary, in Park (for an auto). I am not sure for a manual on the conditions.

Did you check the position of the lock in the trunk? Vertical allows the use of the button under the steering wheel and the release on the trunk (when the car is unlocked). Horizontal prevents the use of either.
