Does anyone of you have any experience with tuning the 2-litre dieselengine in 3-series? I currently have the standard 2001-edition with 136 BHP / 280Nm, and seriously - that has to change! I have found several add-on-boxes to boost up the power ( P-box, Python tuning etc..), but i have no experience whatsoever tuning dieselengines.. How much power is it reasonable to aim for? The one's I've been looking at gives 163 BHP and 343Nm. Will the engine/transmission handle that?

If anyone have any experience with this type of dieseltunig, I'd be happy to hear from you!

Normally the maximum power increase you can do by chiptuning the engine is around 20% extra. This way you won't hurt the transmission and/or engine. I looked up the specs for your engine and I've seen values around 160-166 hp and 300-360 nm. So you'll be fine when you chip your engine towards 163 hp/343 nm. The reason BMW doesn't deliver the car with that amount of power STANDARD is that you need to have a good quality fuel and oil. Since the car is manufactured for the whole world (including countries with bad quality fuel) they 'downtune' the car a little bit. But since you live in Norway you will not have problems (btw have you tried shell V-power diesel? works great). But be sure you go to a well-known company with a good name. They will probably also give you a warranty for your car. Prices in the Netherlands for a 320d are between 580 and 770 euros.

Good luck
