Does anyone know if the manifold in a turbo kit for a V6 E36 work on a V6 E46? One person told me no and he wanted to charge me an additonal $400. Everyone else I talked to told me yes and that he's just trying to get more money. Does anyone know? I was told as long as my car is not an M3 (which it's not), than I can use the same kit. HELP!

V6. Jeeze. I've heard of BMW V4's but not V6's. Who's charging you an extra $400. Do you already have a turbo installed on your inline6? Who's installing this kit, who makes it? The factory exhaust mandifolds are different, but that's not to say the turbo ones should be different... they're both M52 2.8L engines.

INLINE 6. Sorry for the slip. I'm used to a carburated V8. BMW's are a new world for me. There is no turbo installed. The block is bone stock right now. The kit is made by SPA turbo. I found 2 people that sell the kit. One seller lists it as a E36 kit and said the turbo exhaust manifold is for an E36 only and it's an additonal $400 for the E46. The other seller said the turbo exhaust manifold is the same for the INLINE 6 E36 to the INLINE 6 E46. I guess all I need to know is if the exhaust ports are in the same location from motor to motor. Just trying to do a little research here before forking out that kind of money. Thanks.

well, yeah, like I said, they're both the same block (M50), but different head to some degree. My advice would be to contact Active Autowerke and ask them. Browse through their site and check out how a nice turbo system should look, without any guess work. (No ebay turbos.) I'd rather not say one way or the other, because I'm not 100%, and it's your money, not mine.
