Underneath the gas pedal

Underneath the gas pedal there is this bolt that sticks out of the ground and when you floor the car it hits the bolt that is sticking out....If it is possible to adjust it will it make any difference in the cars performance???

Isn't that the kickdown switch that you're referring to?

it won't make any difference in performance.

if it is an automatic that is the kickdown switch. but if you have a manual, that bolt is just to stop you from punching the pedal through the metal. and no, adjusting the bolt to give the pedal more room will not bring any performance upgrade.

the injection is controlled electrical and the motronic will not allow more fuel to be pumped while the injection system itself can not let more fuel than possible pass through
