visited my BMW dealer today and described the slipping transmission problem with my wifes 3 week old 325xi wagon
their chief technician new all about the problem and
said BMW now have a bulletin out that identifies the known issues
told me it was due to the "lifetime" transmission fluid not being compatible with one of the seals in the transmission and the seal not holding the pressure
without hesitation they processed the problem and
they are ordering a new transmission but because of the scope of the problem transmissions are on backorder
they will call me when one is available
they were really easy to deal with
so far so good
