[thumb] I like your plan, I started doing upgrades and seem to always find a new gadget that I like for my car. You should look up the local BMW Chapter in your area. The BMWCCA has listings for all of the car clubs in your area and they have lists of reputable independent shops. I recently moved to Washington DC and I used the local club to find an Independent shop that additionally gives me a 10 percent discount on parts and labor for being a BMWCCA card carrying member. That's my two and a half cents... Happy Motoring. [driving2]

I will second what Zchild said and add the following. The BMW CCA chapter is the Windy City Chapter. It can be contacted at P.O Box 133, Glenview, IL 60025. You can join by calling the Nat'l Office at 1-800-878-9292 or (toll) 864-250-0022. Dues can be placed on a credit card. Good luck and welcome. I am a 20 yr member and have received many club benefits over the years as well as a $500 check back from BMW NA for being a club member for at least 1 year when I bought my 2004 330i.
