My 4dr 325i non sports suspension is getting soft. I don't want a harsh ride and am thinking of putting in the sports suspension. Any suggestions? Will a sports suspension (springs and shocks) fit from 2003-2005 CI car? Will I need anything else besides the springs and shocks? Thx
The suspension from a coupe will not fit your 4dr.
In addition to shocks and springs (whichever setup you go with) I would include replacing your Rear Shock Mounts - the OEM ones are spongy and generally are ready to replace whenever you replace the suspension (But isn't always done, because it's not considered to have 'failed').
If you're looking at a 'near OEM BMW sport' setup, then a 'pro kit' set of shocks/springs sounds up your alley (Not too aggressive, but you get the drop and increased handling). 'Pro Kit' being a complete H&R setup(Or Koni, Bilstein, etc), or combo where the springs are the 'pro' rating and not 'racing' rating. 'Pro kit's usually get you around 1-1.2 inch drop (depending on kit, and car model of course).
Here's a pic of mine with a 'Racing' suspension setup. It's about 1/2 inch lower than Pro Kit setups. Slightly bumpier (I've driven and ridden in pro and racing setups) than a pro kit setup, but likely not noticable if you've not driven in both for extended periods. Also with Stock bumpers, so you see how low it 'sits'.
