urgent !!! question about hardtop

Hello everyone [:)]

I have a BMW 325 ci convertible with a hard top. The hard top has these four flaps that when you lift them, underneath is a place for like a screw. I wanted to buy a roof rack (cause i'm moving and need extra space) and each bmw dealer I call to ask what rack to get they say it's impossible that i have those "flaps with the holes"

Ithought before I bother my neighbors and lug it from the basement and put it on my car, I'll write to you knowledgeble guys and find out if

A) what are the holes for
and
B) what rack will go to my car

Hopefully someone knows this mystery!!!

Go to a BMW dealership and they have a product catalog with all that stuff in there. There a few different type of roof racks made for BMW's. They have a ski, snowboarding, and a few different types of bicycle roof racks....

P.S. Welcome to the board....

I have a hardtop, and yes, it has the plastic covers. I've never removed them, but the Euro Delivery rep at the factory in Munich specifically pointed them out as being for the roof rack when I picked up the car.

The dealers you have talked to are confused.... or clueless.

Kirby, those are for sure roof rack mounting holes. The BMW catalog has a variety of racks made for the mounts...

P.S. The covers do not remove. They pivot on a hinge inward....

Hi Eva,
I live in Italy and I have a hard top with an original BMW rack which fits in the holes. I have then mounted a ski-holder on the rack.
You have to ask for the rack for the E46 convertible.
