Valentine 1 radar install

has anyone installed a Valentine One radar unit (just the radar itself, no remote display kit) on any 2003 e46 325i w/ sun roof?

any information would be helpful ...

my trunk says my car should be pre-wired for the universal garage door opener .... and i think that would be the best place to grab 12v from ... however i dont see the pre-run wires up there anywhere? ... ive already taken the panel off and looked around

any comments?

also i havent got a valentine yet ... i am assuming they are the best thats why i plan on getting one ...

any other suggestions? maybe a passport?

I read a lot about V1 and passport. Basically, they are two of the best in the market. Some people like V1 and some like passport for different reasons. I like passport b/c it looks soooo much better.

I like the V1. Once you have the arrows, you can't go back. Saved my butt several times due to cops being ahead and behind me at the same time. That and the 2 cops in a row trick where one zooms up and passes you while the other one lurks behind to nab you if you speed up after the first one leaves.

The Passport does look better though.

The Passport looks better (much more compact) and is basically more sleek. In terms of abilities, I think the Passport is much better with false alarms and has better LASER detection. But I feel that the V1 is more powerful for X, K, and Ka bands, and has a better field of view.

mallards, the V1 comes with a direct-wire kit to hard-wire your V1 to your car. Perhaps wire it to your sunroof motor or one of your overhead console lights.
