Hello to all.

I was wondering how many of you have used the ALLDATA automotive recall web site to review documented recalls on their vehicles? Have you used this information to request repairs? How can an owner confirm the recalls have actually been done?

Is there a way to actually confirm these have been done through a general manufacturer online service, or special request to your dealer?

My car is 1999 328i and this is the alldata report for it ... http://www.alldata.com/TSB/06/99069039.html

By looking at the release dates for TSB (technical service bulletins), I would assume that if I brought my car in to my dealer for regualr maintenance, they automatically handled the recalls. However, the repairs bills never really clearly indicated this fact.

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Just ask the dealer to check or call BMW NA and check. I called BMW NA when I lived in Idaho because my nearest dealer was 100 miles. They checked their system and told me that there was an "open repair order" to fix a recall. I took the car in and it was done quickly and free.
