Does anybody know if installing an aftermarket alarm/remote starter will void a warranty? The place were I am thinking of having it done told me that there is some sort of law that protects the consumer and allows them to have aftermarket equipment installed without voiding it. Thanks!

If the aftermarket part causes the failure then it will void that part other than that you will be safe, like lets say the seat falls appart they have to still cover that. even tho you have an aftermarket alarm/starter or whatever.

True, however with all the posts I've read about awful service and random refusal of warrantee items at BMW dealerships, It may be 'safer' to have the dealer install the alarm. That is if you can afford their rates.
