It has been serveral times that my audio system has blown me away. [B)]

It is not that I don't like a loud sound but it seems that there is a noticable volume level difference between the radio and the CD. Everytime I switch to radio mode, I have to increase the volume several clicks to be able to listen comfortably. However, when I switch it back to CD mode, the sound just blow me away.

Is there away to ajust this?[???1]

I have never heard of any way to adjust relative volume of different sources on my BMWs.

The nav system allows you to adjust overall volume of the voice-over guidance as well as relative volume of the voice-over. But that doesn't address your problem. Sorry. Good luck.

Same thing happens to me even though I don't have the factory BMW cd player anymore.....but you have to remember, a cd will give you better sound quality just the radio, when you're listening to the radio, it's picking it up through radio waves on the antenna and isn't as good as getting direct from the cd.

tripulldee is exactly right. Audio from your CD is a direct digital source that connects from wires. AM/FM radio comes from radio waves (broadcasted at 64Kbps), which isn't true digital-quality sound. This "issue" is occurent in every vehicle out there. The only thing I can recommend is that you remember to lower the volume a bit when switching from Radio to CD. [:)]

The "increased volume" you experience is the result of better frequency response, channel separation, and higher fidelity offered by CDs. The same occurs with a high-quality stereo system or home theater, but may be less noticeable because of the larger listening space.

The difference is REALLY bad in my Civic (sounds like your situation), but hardly noticeable in my 325. Could it possibly be caused by bad radio reception or bad wiring from the antenna to the radio vs good wiring (if any) from CD to radio?
