I'm thinking to buy a 04 330Ci with the Performance Package, Of course I want the HIDs, Navi, 6 spd. and I like the 18's that come with it, but I really want the Style M 71 rims!! They are like a $1000 option

But the dealer said that they can not order that from the factory, but I might be able to order the rims seperate and when the car comes in they install the rims for me. But to me, if I pay $3,900 for a package with 18's, and the spend another $1000 for rims, thats kinda alot of $$. Can't they just swap out the M 135 ( I think those are the ones that come with it) with the M 71 rim????

Are they correct? I really love the look of the M 71 rim and I would have to have that on my new 04 330Ci

Any advice or suggestions? or pics of the 18's that come with the ZHP package (so I can see how those look more)
Thanks,
Joel

Think harder about the navigation system. I sold my 2004 Acura MDX Touring w/ Nav prior to purchasing my 330xi. The nav on the Acura is touted as the best factory installed nav system on the market ... hands down. It's the Alpine touch-screen Navigation with a beautiful screen. In my XI, I ordered it FULLY loaded : CWP, SP, PP, and Xenons but deliberately left out the Navigation. I looked into purchasing an after market Alpine and having it installed but BMW said it would void my electrical warranty - so ixnay on that idea. The BMW nav. system is not touch screen. The knobs are chunky and its a pain to type in an address by scrolling through the alphabet to pick each letter. It's not near as safe, efficiet or reliable as some of the after-market systems and in my opinion ... is a waste of money. I am looking into the Magellan Roadmate 700 (touch screen), while it doesn't look AS cool, it is very handy and much more user friendly than BMW's. It's small enough to store in the glove box when you don't need it. Just thought I'd share. Good luck!

Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, no warranties can be voided by aftermarket installations. Had you a problem with an electrical system after the installation of such a system, the manufacturer (BMW in this case) would have to prove in a court of law that the installation of the aftermarket product caused a problem with an OEM system.

Navigation

I'm not sure why there are so many comments on the navigation- whether it's user friendly or looks good/bad, the most important thing should be: (1) whether s/he uses the navigation system day-to-day, (2) whether s/he is dependent on the navigation and (3) whether the s/he would not mind the hassle of getting aftermarket navigation or the looks of the aftermarket navigation (if s/he needs it).

For me personally, I use the navigation system on my 2001 330ci and althought not necessarily the best system in the world, I personally don't like the look of aftermarket versions as well as having it on my car when I sell it later.

So instead of saying you should/shouldn't get navigation, the question of how frequent and how dependent you are on the navigation and whether you like the look of aftermarket or stock system should be asked.

Thanks for the reply guys and the info on the navigation. but does anyone have info on the rims? I really like the M 71 style. I guess the worst case is that I buy the Performance package and order the rims and then sell the 18's that come with the package.
Anyone know what the rules are when a dealer orders a car??
thanks,
Joel

I dont know if this will help, but the Sport Package included M Double Spoke Alloy Wheels, then my invoice also has 18" Alloy Wheel for $900.00..........mine are the 72 style......I'm assuming the 72's were a good price at $900.00 since they probably took into consideration the deduct cost of the M Double Spoke Alloy Wheels in the sport package.......[???1]
