Washing a car without a hose?

I am moving to a condo where there is underground parking but no hose. How can I wash my car in this situation? Do I need a compression sprayer, a pressure washer, or just a few buckets of water? What do I do besides spend $12 a week at the local hand car wash?

Any kind of power washer for personal use requires a hookup to water, which you do not have. So power washers are out. A few buckets of water won't be enough, I think you were kidding?

Maybe you can ask the condo association what others do? Surely in a NY condo there are many others with nice cars like yours wanting to wash theirs also.

I don't know the layout of your condo, but is it possible to run a hose out of your window to the ground? They make connectors that can hook a hose up to your sink....Of course if you live in metro NY and the condo is a high rise you are SOL. $12 isn't so bad for a car wash.....

Good luck.

You mean you don't use reverse osmosis treated bottled water to clean your car?

I get $1.50 but I end up putting more quarters in so about $2.50.

$7 + $2 tip each week for a machine wash. It does a poor job compared to hand wash, but I like my car cleaned once a week and I don't have the time (and it's damn cold here during the winter).

I take mine to a hand-wash place. Costs me $19 (not including $2 tip). They wash the car by hand, then vacuum and clean the interior and treat the tires. I've only had the car a couple of weeks and have washed it once this way. I think I'll do it every couple of weeks.

My dealer washes the car for free any time that you feel like dropping by.

Granted, I won't be using their service in durring the summer as I will be washing it at home by hand, but it will be very nice to stop by the dealership on the way home from work every now and again to get the salt off in the winter time.

MrElussive, where in NJ are u from? There's a hand car wash in carlstadt, only thing i don't like about them is that they use towels to dry the car. Mmmswirrily wirrly.. Then again, nothing beats cleaning the car by yourself. The weather's getting warmer which is a huge relief. Time to stock up on car care products, and for a waxer.

have you tried one of those california car duster things for between washes? I'm picking one up today...it's pretty dusty out here. Just have to be careful not to brush with something that will scratch the finish.
