01 325Ci - 65000miles Recently had water pump and serpentine belt along with antifreeze replaced. ($700 ouch) Car has now started to make a noise under the hood , it comes and goes with the engine rpm. almost sounds like a pulley or something rubbing against something else but only when RPMs are between 2200 and 2700 rpms. any suggestions??
Second problem-- drivers door opens very hard after being locked, especially when cold. THe button comes up and it seems to unlock it , but when you pull up on the handle nothing happens unless you lock/unlock it a few times. Passenger door will only open from the inside, outside door handle, while it feels connected to the doors innards doesn't open the door.
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

Is it like a se se se se sound that's probably normal, I think my 330 does that sometimes, could be the wheels or even the rotors. Since once you hit 3000rpm the engine is too loud to hear it, and under 2000rpm the car isnt accelerating lightly. So long as it doesn't give you any "real" problems I wouldn't worry.

As for the door problems I think the mechanism which is a plastic wire I believe needs replacing. Try and find a reputable BMW shop, instead of paying top $$$ at the dealer. Or better, if you're mechanically inclined do it yourself and order the parts. I'm sure you can find out how to get the door paneling off...

[thumb] I had some problems under my hood that sound similar to what you are describing. It turned out that one of the pulley bearings was going bad. I replaced all three pulleys at the same time to save having to go back and replace them one at a time. I would only get the noise when I accelerated the engine. Just my two and a half cents...
Happy Motoring..

Pulley bearings... I'll keep that in mind, sounds strange that (knock on wood) it's been a trouble free year and of all things a pulley bearing would be going bad at 10k.... heh go figure.
